Privacy Policy
Last updated: March 14, 2026
WarrantyTracker ("we", "our", or "the app") is developed by Aleksandar Milidrag. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our iOS application.
1. Information We Collect
Account Information
- Name and email address (when you sign in with Apple or Google)
- Anonymous identifier (when using the app without an account)
Warranty & Receipt Data
- Product names, purchase dates, warranty periods, and notes you enter
- Receipt images you capture using your device camera
Device & Usage Data
- Device model, operating system version, and app version
- Anonymous analytics events (screen views, feature usage) to improve the app
- Push notification token for delivering expiry reminders
Purchase Information
- Subscription status (managed by Apple through StoreKit; we do not see your payment details)
2. How We Use Your Information
- Core Functionality: Store and display your warranties, send expiry reminders
- AI Receipt Scanning: Receipt images are processed entirely on your device using Apple's built-in Vision and Foundation Models technology. Your receipt images are never sent to external servers for AI processing.
- Authentication: Create and manage your account securely
- Push Notifications: Deliver warranty expiry reminders you opt into
- Analytics: Understand how the app is used to improve features
3. On-Device AI Processing
When you use the AI Receipt Scanning feature, all processing happens entirely on your device. We use Apple's Vision framework for text recognition (OCR) and Apple's Foundation Models for extracting product details. No receipt images or extracted text are sent to external AI services. Warranty duration suggestions come from a bundled database within the app. You can use the app without this feature by entering warranty details manually. On-device AI requires a compatible device (iPhone 15 Pro or later) with Apple Intelligence enabled.
4. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services:
- Firebase (Google): Authentication, database (Firestore), file storage, push notifications, and analytics
- Apple Vision & Foundation Models: On-device receipt text recognition and data extraction (no data leaves your device)
- Apple StoreKit: Subscription and purchase management
Each service processes data according to their own privacy policies. We encourage you to review Firebase's Privacy Policy.
5. Data Storage & Security
Your data is stored securely in Google Firebase with the following protections:
- All data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS)
- Database security rules ensure you can only access your own data
- Receipt images are stored in private, authenticated storage buckets
- No data is shared with other users
6. Data Retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. Warranty records and receipt images are kept until you delete them individually or delete your account entirely.
7. Your Rights & Data Deletion
You can:
- Delete individual warranties at any time within the app
- Delete your entire account from the Profile screen, which permanently removes all your data from our servers including warranties, receipt images, and account information
- Request data export or deletion by contacting us at the email below
8. Children's Privacy
WarrantyTracker is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through the app or by updating the "Last updated" date above.
